Top Shelf, Pieces of Me
On the top shelf of my bookshelf, I used to organize books that had a profound impact on me, hoping to find the context of my life among them.
As I organized, I started with two books I read in 2011. After listing the books, I categorized them into soul, society (the world), and work. I divided them into books that shaped my soul, books that created lenses through which I view the world, and books that posed questions about my work and career. Then I drew a line connecting them all. Seeing them linked like this, the flow seems clearer, and I feel I can see more clearly where my focus will lie going forward.
Books separated under the theme of technology criticism are now moving towards technology philosophy and STS. If the time until now was about building the container that shapes me, isn't it time to fill this container with expertise? I wonder what books will fill the next decade~
